Diablo-Style Game Titan Quest Coming To Switch, PS4, And Xbox One Next Year

Standard and Collector's Editions will arrive on consoles next March.

Nearly 12 years after it first released on PC, THQ Nordic's Diablo-like action-RPG Titan Quest is coming to home consoles. The publisher announced it is bringing Titan Quest to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One in 2018, with a special addition available for the latter two platforms.

Titan Quest will be released digitally and in stores for all of the aforementioned consoles. The standard release will cost $30 and includes both the base game and the Immortal Throne expansion. Additionally, PS4 and Xbox One owners will have the option to spring for the game's premium Collector's Edition, which is also being released for PC. You can take a look at it below.

No Caption Provided

The Titan Quest Collector's Edition includes a physical copy of the game on your platform of choice (along with the Immortal Throne expansion), a branded notebook, and a replica Greek war helmet that stands at 9.15 inches. It all comes housed in a premium box. The Collector's Edition costs $119 for PS4 and Xbox One, while the PC version costs $110.

Titan Quest launches for PS4 and Xbox One on March 20, 2018; the game will arrive on Switch later in the year. Titan Quest original debuted on PC in 2006. THQ Nordic released an updated version of it last year to celebrate its 10-year anniversary.

Seems to be the lazy generation of remastered games this year. Devil May Cry HD Collection, lazy port. Burnout Paradise giving you all the cars at the beginning of the game to make three quarters of the game a walk in the park. I would have preferred Burnout 3 Takedown or Burnout 4 Revenge which there is a HD version of the latter on the X360. Now Titan Quest with it's framerate issues (many enemies on screen) and unresponsive controls on the PS4, see the only review of it. 5.5/10. Such a pity, as Titan Quest was actually a great game on the PC minus the rubberband effect. If the game companies can't even be bothered to put the proper effort into releasing the older games, then don't release them.

I'm hoping they more of a customization to creating a character. Like skin tone, hair styles, something since original had very dull choice of scruffy guy or puckered lip girl. Only thing u got to really alter was color of basic tunic, would love to see more customization in new rerelease. Other than that I loved the campaign an had fun back in the day playing with buddies online.

I want to play a 12 year old game why? If they didn't upgrade it no thanks. Grim Dawn is the spiritual successor to Titan Quest and I'm happy playing that.

Also, it's "edition" not "addition" when talking about the special edition of the game.

It's a good game, but selling it for full price when I picked it up for $5 on a Steam sale a decade ago seems like a cash grab.

@RossRichard: LOL, that logic is idiotic. A completely different platform, just because its inexpensive on the PC doesn't mean they should give it away on the consoles. THQ Nordic has employees that want to make a living just like everyone else does.

@Bamda: Wanna buy my pen for a thousand Dollars? I gotta make a living, too, after all.

It's a remaster of a decade old game and it looks like crap. I really don't see why anyone would pay $30 for it on console, or buy it at all. Even 20 bucks seems like too much for me for such an old and outdated game.

But was the game even successful when it initially launched or is THQ just so desperate that they're trying to rerelease everything they can just to make a couple bucks off of it?

@Atzenkiller: Thanks but I don't need a pen, I own about 20+ myself. I'm assuming you not from the USA in this country we use Capitalism as the economic system. We sell everything to make a profit, including old games. So if you want to own it on a new system it will cost you money, and THQ Nordic is entitled to set the price, not you or me.

@Bamda: Well, glad you clarified that you're from the US. From the way you make it sound Americans are dumb enough to pay any price companies demand. Here in Germany in our form of capitalism the people decide whether something's worth paying the price or not. Demand and supply.

@Atzenkiller:
Here's some simple economics 101 for you:

"Things are worth what people are willing to pay for them."

Any argument you have on whether or not this game is "worth it" or not, is now rendered moot.

@Atzenkiller: It's the same here man, if the demand is there for the game then people will buy it. I would assume that most will wait for a sale before buying it.

Man THQ-Nordic is selling the hell out of THQ's games.

Thank God. Because THQ actually had some great gems, and some diamonds in the rough.

Alot of movement lately for such an old game. First the release of a new expansion (Ragnarok) now porting it over to consoles. Odd, considering the developer now essentially exists in name(ish) only (THQ Nordic is not the THQ that developed the game originally...they were bought out several years ago) and most of the original crew has moved on to make their own ARPG (Grim Dawn).

I'm not going to complain...Titan Quest was a solid ARPG with pretty unique settings and mobs.

It was just on sale for like $6 on GoG. Still, I'd rather play on my PS4 so we'll see.

@siarhei: Setting, gameplay, other factors. This is what make people choose certain games over others. Plus PoE is online, so maybe not everything might be made for 1 player. But i could be wrong and they balanced everything perfectly, with difficulty increasing the more players there are.

Titan Quest is an amazing Diablo-clone. Tight controls, great story, and superb visuals and music. I'm still playing the PC version from back in the day (just recently re-installed it) and cannot wait for the console version.

Though im definitely itching for a Diablo style rpg for the switch I would have much rather preferred diablo itself or Torchlight. Maybe I'll pick it up if it gets decent reviews.

If it doesn't have Ragnarok, its not a good deal. Act V is the best act in the game.

They sure are getting a lot of mileage out of this game. I guess, when the hack & slash loot RPG hasn't dramatically changed in ... ever, the good ones stay relevant.
