Diablo II patch released

Major patch to one of the industry's evergreen titles is released by Blizzard.

Calling the patch the "largest to date in terms of game changes," Blizzard today said patch 1.10 for Diablo II was ready for download from its battle.net servers.

The 5.5MG download includes "seasonal ladder characters, more challenging gameplay, enhanced skills, new items, new anti-cheat measures, [and] a new game-world event" according to Blizzard.

For now, the patch is best secured by connecting to battle.net, but a standalone version of the update is expected soon.
