Diablo 3 PTR 2.6.10 Has Been Extended Indefinitely
Diablo III will keep the latest PTR open longer than expected after facing some issues.
Diablo III's current PTR, 2.6.10, hasn't been a smooth experience for all players, with some reporting issues with logins and latency. Now, Blizzard has announced that the PTR will be extended "for an unspecified amount of time" while they test some changes with users.
Blizzard is encouraging players to jump into the PTR to help with testing, and has announced two changes that have been made. The Shadow Clone seasonal theme has been temporarily turned off, and will likely be back on by some point on October 14; once it comes back on, the fourth slot in Kanai's Cube will be disabled. It will eventually come back, too, but only after some further testing is completed.
Blizzard is planning for more testing beyond this, too, and will update with further details when they know what other changes are going to be introduced. Seasonal themed content started coming to the PTR earlier this month.
Blizzard is inviting feedback on the PTR Feedback forum and the PTR Bug Report forum.
Diablo IV was announced at BlizzCon 2019, and is still a while away from release. In September, Blizzard unveiled the game's reworked skill tree. The game's concept art has so far, reportedly, been pure "nightmare fuel"--but in a good way.
We may see more details on Diablo IV at Blizzcon Online, which is slated for February. That event will partially take the place of this year's event, which was canceled. The Blizzard events are usually scheduled for November. It's also where we are likely to hear more information on Overwatch 2. The pseudo-sequel has been missing in action since 2019.
