The Xbox One version of Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition will run at 1080p after a day-one patch, Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed. The patch boosts the resolution from 900p to 1080p. Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition for Xbox One also runs at 60fps, bringing the game's resolution and frame rate on par with the PlayStation 4 version.

"The game will be available [in] 1080p on both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One," Blizzard associate producer Tiffany Wat tells GameSpot. "Native 1080p resolution. You will need to download the day-one patch for the Xbox One to get that support, but it will be there. We're very happy about that."

That the Xbox One version of Diablo III will run in 1080p at launch this month is somewhat of a surprise. Blizzard Entertainment developers said last month that while it would be possible to get to 1080p some day, the studio did not expect to make it there for launch day on Xbox One.

Though Blizzard's statement today does not mention it specifically, the developer said previously that the Xbox One June SDK (an update for developers that boosts console GPU power) could allow Blizzard to improve the resolution though a patch.

Diablo III launches August 19 for Xbox One and PS4. Publisher Activision Blizzard announced this week that the game has now sold more than 20 million copies, including the Reaper of Souls expansion. Diablo III is currently available for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Awwwwwwwwww looks like ponies upset xbox one is getting another 1080p 60fps game. Few months ago some of you were quick to say diablo 3 was going to be awesome on ps4 because it was 1080p 60 fps, now you saying its not demanding or the game is trash. lol. make up your minds. lol

@kahnseal its not demanding, its trash, i payed full retail price for this crap when it launched and it was one of the WORST game experiences i had, full of lag, lost many characters on hardcore thanks to that(brazil servers SUCK) and dude, the game is NOT heavy on graphics, my brother can play it on his asus notebook(geforce 550), my friend played this at 1080p with a geforce 560, so i dont know what you mean, drop the fanboy attitude and stop acting like this matter, blame the devs for the confusion, because even the xbox one should be able to handle this game.

I love xbox and sony, so I like messing with BOTH sides because all the crying about graphics when PC is the only KING in that department. You can download the game from Torrent if you cant find it at retailer and its very simple to get the key codes for it. Then go to CNC Den or Rise of the Reds website. Its the BEST MOD out there, over 3000 vehicles, subs, ships, aircraft, etc. TONS of super weapons, nukes, laser based, space based weapons, chemical, you name it. and the grafx are really insane especially on ultra settings. If you get it, look me up, KAHNSEAL.

@kahnseal you have no ideia, even MS and Sony online stores, which btw THERE IS NO TAXES, have these INSANE prices of 95 dolars for a game, its not even FUNNY, there is no taxes, why not have the same pricing as pc? dude even games that are manufactured in brazil will have a special price tag because its on consoles, like titanfall, it was made in here, pc version physical 43 dolars, xbox one version is 100 dolars, and everyone KNEW that ms was asking that stupid price because "new gen", also the xbox one that is sold here is MADE in here, in Manaus, and it still costs 1100 dolars, there is no tax excuses anymore, being a console owner in brazil is VERY expensive.

No dead pixels or any other issues either it was pretty awesome, if you ever get a chance to pick one up you should though the difference in picture quality is stunning.

Give in? please don't make laugh lol. Make no difference?....My money didn't go to Blizzard for this game, meaning i was able to use it for something else, that was my bottom line. And boycott? I'm guessing there are games you don't buy during a year...does this mean that you boycott them too?

I do the same with dlcs, if a game take a direction i don't like, i don't buy it. Don't really care if it's going to have an impact or not. I didn't buy Diablo 3 nor none of the mass effect 3 dlcs...my life didn't end or got ruined as a result. I don't have that impulse to consume as if i have an obligation to do so.

This is too fishy. Going from 1,440MP to 2,073MP requires 30% more GPU power. Which its obviously impossible to be done just from a patch or an upgrade from from the XB1 SDK.

I would really love to see if there will be some difference in the graphic settings.

I would like to see a comparison from gamespot, before and after the patch.

I think the real question to ask is WHY does 1080p have to be the output for this game. It's not like it's a graphics are on par with Crysis. I'll take frame rate over resolutions with a game like this.

We will see how both systems fair it's pushed. Add multiplayer and 100's of enemies on the screen at once then we might see some frame drops.
