Devils summoned to Europe

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army battling onto PS2 on April 27.

Koei has announced a partnership deal with Atlus to bring role-playing game Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army to Europe in April.

The latest title in the Shin Megami Tensai saga comes hot on the heels of Digital Devil Saga 2, which was released across Europe on March 2.

The game is set in Japan at the start of the 20th century and is a more action-orientated game than previous titles in the series. Gamers play as the titular Raidou Kuzunoha the 14th, who works at a detective agency in Tokyo. A mysterious woman who contacts him for help is kidnapped, and as he investigates the case, it becomes clear that it is not as simple as it at first seemed.

Raidou can stun and capture demons and then summon them to fight alongside him in battles. The company describes the game as veering "from the delightfully traditional to terrifyingly dark." It will be released in Europe on the PlayStation 2 on April 27. For more information, check out GameSpot's full review.

If you go on eBay, SMT games are so rare & sought after that they sell for crazy prices. Re barrett_rob: and your one of the extremely few.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner- Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army is a decent game. I'm sure some RPG junkies in the UK will like it.

This is hilarious more and more games are being released for PS2 after the PS3's launch. The PS2 is still making a good amount of money! I wouldn't be surprised if the PS2 keeps making more money than the PS3. The PS2 was a good system, but the PS3 really seems to be screwed.

Even though I wish it weren't so, the PS3 is a disaster. One possible consequence of that could be some unexpected additional longevity for the PS2 platform...

Um..ps2? I no longer have this system, why would I?

I got the american version in october and I must say I really enjoyed this game. The SMT series apparently sell remarkably well over here compared to in the US: for being so small a nation in comparison SMT DDS1 sold suprisingly well. I would recommend gamers to check this game out because its really difficult to say what type of gamer would like it, some die hard rpg-ers hate it but some average or normal gamers really liked the weird slant, the era, the demons, the music and the crazy dialogue.

"Devils summoned to Europe" = This would make a great title for a feature about the PS3 European release ! Speaking of which, will this play on the PS3.........

SMT still seems to be a niche series in Europe so RKvs.TSA won't sell that well, but otherwise it's great to hear/read that another Atlus game reaches Europe. Hopefully, there will be more Atlus games in Europe in the future. I am from Germany and until some years ago, it has been difficult for me to get my hands onto Atlus games. Now, I am happy for my friends to have an opportunity to enjoy Atlus games as well.
