TOKYO--Sega revealed new details on its upcoming Sakura Taisen release, Sakura Taisen Monogatari: Mysterious Paris, today in a press conference.

Sakura Taisen Monogatari: Mysterious Paris will take place half a year after Sakura Taisen 4. The main cast will be drawn from characters present in Sakura Taisen 3, and the game will once again take place in Paris.

However, the main character Ichirou Oogami is gone. Players will assume the role of either a Japanese detective named Kojirou Akechi, or as Kojirou's little sister, Miki. Together with the characters from Sakura Taisen 3, Kojirou and Miki must solve a mystery they get caught up in.

While previous Sakura Taisen releases have been adventure RPGs, Sakura Taisen Monogatari: Mysterious Paris will take the form of an adventure game. The game will inherit the LIPS selection system used in the previous Sakura Taisen releases--and will come with a life bar.

To promote the upcoming title, the game's two theme songs will be released on December 21.

Sakura Taisen Monogatari: Mysterious Paris is due for the PS2 and slated for a March, 2004, release.
