As it did in the lead-up to Destiny's House of Wolves expansion in May, Bungie will host a multi-week livestream video series to get players ready for the game's next major content drop, The Taken King. Bungie announced the special programming on its website as part of the latest Bungie Weekly Update.

This will begin on August 19 with a livestream called "Destiny Year Two." Hosted by executive producer Mark Noseworthy and senior design lead Tyson Green, this broadcast, beginning at 11 AM PDT / 2 PM EDT, will talk about how player achievements in the game's first year will carry over to year two.

During this broadcast, Bungie will answer the following questions:

  • What will your Guardian's lifestyle be like in the new and improved Tower?
  • How will your Guardian become a more powerful snowflake over the course of your next journey?
  • Is it true that Character Level and Light will rise in exciting new ways?

Seven days later, Bungie will host its next Destiny livestream on August 25, starting at the same time. This one is called "Strike the Dreadnaught," and it will be hosted by design lead James Tsai and community member Mr. Fruit. Viewers will get to see the new Guardian sub-class and watch gameplay of a new Strike.

Also during this broadcast, Bungie will share more details about the Dreadnaught overall. Some of the questions to be answered include: "What surprises do the Taken have for us in combat?" and "How are boss battles different in The Taken King?"

The third and final pre-Taken King Twitch livestream will be held the following Wednesday, September 2, also starting at 11 AM PDT / 2 PM EDT. This one is called "Court of Oryx" and is expected to dive deep into the "mysteries [that] lie in wait within the cavernous hull of the Dreadnaught."

It will be hosted by designer Ben Wommack, creative director Luke Smith, and community member Laced Up Lauren. This video broadcast will go in depth about the "challenges and rewards" that await Guardians on board the Dreadnaught.

The Taken King launches on September 15 across all platforms. It will make major changes to the overall Destiny experience, and the Ghost voice actor Peter Dinklage has even been replaced. For more on The Taken King, check out some recent stories below.
