Destiny Players Getting "Legendary" Gift This Week, Bungie Says

Had no luck, got a shotgun which is only really useful for PVP... for which I already have Universal Remote. ^^;

Destiny: a beautiful mansion filled with cheap ikea furniture. why a weapon that will get broken down (unless you just bought the game) in less than 5 minutes? im pretty sure a new ghost shell would have been better accepted rather than the equivilent of 2 ascendant energy. legendary gear isnt that to obtain since the patch...unless its raid gear.

Maybe just push out a patch that isn't garbage. I was disgustingly addicted to this game for about two months, basically quit late November and removed the game to free up drive space the first week of December.

A weird time to be giving out gifts still, I guess Bungie missed the Christmas deadline for this DLC and figured better late than never.

There is something about Destiny that just clicks for me. Maybe its just the beautiful world they have created. I sometimes wonder about the origins of a certain gun by its design or the name. Is it human before or after the collapse? Is it fallen modified by humans, or is it hive (thorn comes to mind)? I love collecting new exotics and trying new guns that might not be popular, but fit with my playing style. The sound design and music is great also. There is is a particular piece of melody that plays in the tower sometimes that is dream to my ears. Gameplay is top notch, it just feels natural to play. It is rare for me to find a game that feels like a extension of my brain when playing it.

Some decide to hate on Destiny and some really really hate it. Some rage because an activision guy barged in and ruined it by making them pay for content. It is indeed a big bad conspiracy when someone asks you to pay for their work... In case you want to consume it.

However enough people love it just like me. I play with them every day. I love it, and thats what matters to me.

Better be something good. Most of the legendary gear I have I have had to buy with marks as the Crytarch always screws me over.

Hopefully it's something my Titan can actually use, the 3 Legendary items I've decoded have been for a Hunter and a Warlock.

The legendary gift should be a special engram that can be redeemed for a unique and limited edition ghost shell, shader, ship, emblem, sparrow, etc. This would make the item that you get unique. For example, if we all got the same ghost shell it would look very noobish because everyone in the game has it.

Aren't the motes of light and those upgrade items for weapons and gear legendary class items now? That's what I'd expect a small but legendary token to be.

I recently picked up Destiny just before Christmas and already have one Level 28 Awoken Titan, Level 19 Human Warlock and another Level 13 Human Titan. I've got about 3 Legendary weapons, none of which I bought. In fact I have only bought 1 legendary item and it was an arm piece to which I promptly found another legendary arm piece go figure. Also I purchased christmas week exotic Titan body armor. I have been on a roll and I have ZERO DLC.

Sure many places were set up to be expanded upon when they get time to do it, how on earth that equates to cut content is the cry of salty babies. Next up is people talking about no story, hmm...really is that so? So no one knows that you are basically resurrected to fight against the Light, the Traveller is on his last legs and you are there to protect the city and to do that you have to somehow stop whatever the hell is slowly killing the Traveller. Is the Traveller good, is it evil that remains to be seen. All I know is many of the story bits are strew about the game. Master Rahool is much more than the lets on to be, I wouldn't be surprised if he's originally royalty from the Reef. Now what about the Awoken Queen and her creepy emo looking brother, they have Fallen that obey them, just what are the fallen and who is it that is leading them? Fallen from what exactly? Then there's the Vex, seemingly so evil they seek out other evil to destroy...wait what? Must be an evil competition going on, then we have the Hive...just what the "f" are those guys anyway, they are by far the most grotesque entities in Destiny yet. Although it seems they are ritualistic they are indeed powerful absurdly so, if Crota is anything to go by. So while everyone goes on about no story, I have run across a bunch of threads that cross one another and also there is the Exo who is seemingly working with an unknown and seems to know a lot about the Vex as does Eris about the Hive. Last but not least the heavily armored Cabal, Destiny has a crap load of players the Guardians are but bit players so far. I haven't finished the story as I got wrapped up in Vanguard duties running around taking on powerful foes for nice returns.

This game is an introduction into the lore of Destiny, this is a midpoint and not the start of the story by a long shot. I hope they do a prequel, I would love to traverse Venus sans all the destruction and desolate eerie feeling you get in the city. Will we get to play flashbacks to our former lives at different points in the Great War? Just who is this Darkness? Who was the Traveller running from, what in the hell is so powerful that even this being who could terraform entire planets would seek refuge from? I have an idea that the Traveller is running from races/beings he helped evolve. His seemingly good intentions turn out badly since too much too soon can be a detriment to growth.

I am really into this game and what the story these guys have for us, I am going to stick with this as long as the core game is not a piss in the wind, so far it isn't. Just wished there was an offline that threw in bots to take the role of random guardians, that would be nice if they'd be named after Bungie employees. I think that Bungie would do well to use light as leveling and underlying armor can be utilized based on it's attributes like reducing arc damage or increasing fire resistance. Low level armors can be upgraded to contend with higher level armor, but the process should be something not easy to do. As should weapons, they should have had the special attributes on weapons of level 16 and up. Anyone who has played the game should know about the upgrade trees on weapons and armors, thing is some armors have certain looks and it would have been great if you could have the look but the defense of the better armor. So I think it would have been great to be able to modify the upgrade trees to reflect what you want out of your armor and weapon. Obviously there will be a limit to not let things get too ridiculous, but it would have given better use of all these materials in the game. Motes of light could be used to exchange attributes on weapons and armor, shards could be used for augmenting with elemental damage by first equipping the shard then taking a certain amount of damage from that element to empower it. So many avenues to take that would give more depth to the limited weapons and armors in the game. Balance the upgrades and transfers well and you'd have one monster of a system to fiddle with and that could also tie into your avatars own abilities. Imagine having a weapon that utilizes the damage done to a Titans Ward of Dawn while it's active to increase damage output of that weapons critical hits by a factor of 4% per shot. Or Solar that allows you to absorb enough flame damage to increase your Golden Gun ammo limit and can be fired one at a time or all at once in a do or die move that causes all shots to impact but they lose power the more obstacles they have to pass through before impacting their target. I'm going to the forum to throw some of this stuff out there, lol.

That gift would be great it if was something useful like a weapon or something or removing weird things like DLC only weapons, wtf is that?

You know what I would consider a legendary gift, the end of the zoo's worth of connection errors.

It would really be nice to play the game for a full day and not get disconnected by 2 caterpillars a baboon and a dragonfly.

thing is i have been playing less and less of late what sucked it for me was "whats the best way to get to 30" this was before the dlc i was 28 made 29 with advise from mates..... then dlc "ok ill try to get at least 31, best way" so was told what to try

been 28 29 28 29 28 back to 29..... for all that fussing i could have been 32 by now not still 29 then its well once i hit that number what is the actull purpose because theres no content to challenge or the old saying nothing new for a 31 character to run through

then i heard rumours the next cap in the next dlc will be like this new gear old will be useless so i guess will be 30 29 30 29
