Destiny New Year's Gifts Arrive Today

Christmas has come and gone, but Destiny developer Bungie is still handing out gifts.

As announced previously, all Destiny players are getting gifts of 15 Strange Coins and 15 Motes of Light today, January 7. Why?

"Just because you're all so awesome," Bungie wrote on its website.

These gifts "should" arrive today, Bungie said, though it's unclear if they've been delivered yet through the in-game Postmaster. You'll want to make sure you have enough space to accept the gifts, the developer warned.

Bungie's first Weekly Update of 2016 is expected to arrive this afternoon, at which time more details may become available. We'll update this post when we know more.

Even more gifts are coming to Destiny players, too. Everyone who logs into Destiny and completes any playable activity between January 7 and January 10 will receive a special emblem. This emblem, which will be delivered to all qualifying players on January 12, has not yet been revealed.
