Destiny 2: Where Is Xur This Week? Exotic Items / Location Guide (Oct. 16-20)

Snag some new exotics from Xur to help you finish your Festival of the Lost runs through the Haunted Forest.

Comments

The Festival of the Lost continues as we near the end of Destiny 2's Season of Arrivals and quickly approach the Beyond Light expansion. If you're working your way through the Haunted Forest, it's a great time to grab new exotics from our favorite weekend vendor, Xur. Head to Io, to the Giant Scar area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering The Queenbreaker. Hunters can pick up the Lucky Raspberry chest armor; for Titans, there's the Dunemarchers leg armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Getaway Artist gauntlets.

Xur Location

Xur hangs out in a cave on the north end of Giant's Scar, near where Taken enemies spawn.

Use the Giant's Scar transmat zone on Io to get to Xur fast. Hop on your sparrow and head through the archway ahead, then turn toward the north end of the area. Hug the cliff wall on your left until you find a cave; inside, in the shadows, Xur awaits.

Xur Exotic Items

The Queenbreaker, Xur's weapon this week, is a solid heavy choice in both Gambit and Crucible, although its heyday passed a few seasons ago. Still, it's pretty good for vaporizing Guardians, provided you can snag some heavy ammo for it. But if you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. He also has the Five of Swords challenge card, which lets you enable modifiers for Nightfall Strikes.

  • Exotic Engram -- 97 legendary shards
  • The Queenbreaker -- 29 legendary shards
  • Lucky Raspberry -- 23 legendary shards
  • Dunemarchers -- 23 legendary shards
  • Getaway Artist -- 23 legendary shards
  • Five of Swords -- free

The Queenbreaker (Linear Fusion Rifle)

The Queenbreaker was a Gambit mainstay for a long while, but while it's not used nearly as much anymore, it's still a solid sniper-like Heavy weapon that can blind foes at take them out at long range.

You can do some damage with The Queenbreaker in PvP situations--it's essentially a versatile sniper rifle that uses heavy ammo. The gun sports both short- and long-range scopes and lets you switch between the Hip-Fire Grip or Quickdraw perks for maximum versatility at different distances. The long-range precision Arc bolt it fires is often devastating, and if you don't kill what you hit with it, you'll at least blind your target.

Lucky Raspberry (Hunter)

If you're a fan of Arc Bolt grenades, Lucky Raspberry is worth a look. It amps up your grenades and gives you grenade energy back for each chain lightning hit you land--potentially fully recharging your grenade instantly.

It's all about the Arc Bolt grenade with this exotic. Lucky Raspberry increases the chain lightning your Arc Bolt grenades throw off, and every time one deals damage, it has a chance to recharge your grenade energy. If you get a full chain of enemies, you'll get your grenade back instantly, so it's great in crowd-control situations in PvE, or tight-quarters Crucible matches such as Control.

Dunemarchers (Titan)

The static electricity built up by sprinting with Dunemarchers can spell doom for nearby enemies when you land a melee strike--even Guardians in the Crucible.

Dunemarchers are great for amping up your Titan melee abilities. The leg armor increases your sprint speed, while also building up a static-electric charge as you move. When you land a melee attack, the electricity chains damage to nearby enemies. You've probably been seeing Dunemarchers a lot in the Crucible of late, because that chain lightning can be pretty devastating against Guardians, and reaches further from your target than you might expect.

Getaway Artist (Warlock)

Getaway Artist converts your Arc grenades into Arc Souls, which act as autonomous turrets and can give you a serious advantage in a firefight.

Another exotic for Guardians who like Arc subclasses, Getaway Artist lets you convert your Arc grenade into what is essentially another gun. When you hold your grenade button, your Arc grenade is converted into a supercharged Arc Soul, similar to the ones your rifts can generate. The Arc Soul hovers over your shoulder and acts as an autonomous turret, supporting your efforts to kill enemies. The extra firepower can be great for winning one-on-ones in the Crucible.
