Destiny 2: Where Is Xur This Week? Exotic Items / Location Guide (January 15-19)

Xur's back in the solar system to sell you Exotics and help you fill out your growing collection.

Comments

Only a couple of weeks remain in Destiny 2's Season of the Hunt, so if you're looking to wrap up your adventures on Europa or finish off the Wrathborn and the High Celebrant, you need to get on it. Xur's back in the solar system for the weekend and can help, providing a fresh stock of Exotic weapons and armor for your collection. Head to The EDZ, to the Winding Cove area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Arbalest. Hunters can pick up the Oathkeeper gauntlets; for Titans, there's the ACD/0 Feedback Fence gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has The Stag helmet.

Xur Location

Spawn in at the Tower's central transmat zone to find Xur this week. When you load in, turn left and head down the stairs to the Hangar area. When you enter it, turn left and walk to the north end of the area, then take the stairs up to the catwalk. Xur is hanging out near the edge of the area, overlooking the Last City.

Xur Exotic Items

Xur's weapon for this week is Arbalest, a newer Exotic, but a highly effective weapon in a lot of situations. This linear fusion rifle does devastating damage to enemy shields, and any enemy you hit with it becomes vulnerable to extra damage from Kinetic weapons. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram -- 97 legendary shards
  • Arbalest -- 29 legendary shards
  • Oathkeeper -- 23 legendary shards
  • ACD/0 Feedback Fence -- 23 legendary shards
  • The Stag -- 23 legendary shards
  • Xenology quest -- free

Arbalest (Linear Fusion Rifle)

Break enemy shields and make them vulnerable to Kinetic weapons damage with Arbalest.
Break enemy shields and make them vulnerable to Kinetic weapons damage with Arbalest.

Arbalest can be a devastating weapon in a variety of situations. It's a linear fusion rifle, which means it dishes out a lot of pain on critical hits--it'll knock Guardians out in the Crucible with a headshot. Arbalest is also great as a support weapon for fireteams. It does high damage to enemy shields, and hitting enemies with Arbalest causes them to take additional damage from Kinetic weapons. Arbalest hits hard and is useful in both PvE and PvP, so if you don't have one, don't sleep on it.

Oathkeeper (Hunter)

With Oathkeeper, you can hold your charged bow shots for as long as you need to--which can make your bow shots even more effective.
With Oathkeeper, you can hold your charged bow shots for as long as you need to--which can make your bow shots even more effective.

Oathkeeper is a simple but useful Exotic if you've got bows you like, especially the highly powerful ones like Trinity Ghoul, Wish-Ender, or Le Monarque. The gauntlets allow you to hold a charged arrow in a bow indefinitely, letting you lie in wait and at the ready for your opponents. If you've got a bow you love, Oathkeeper can help you use it more effectively.

ACD/0 Feedback Fence (Titan)

The more you punch people, the more energy you build up with ACD/0 Feedback Fence. When someone finally takes a swing at you, they'll get an explosion for their trouble.
The more you punch people, the more energy you build up with ACD/0 Feedback Fence. When someone finally takes a swing at you, they'll get an explosion for their trouble.

ACD/0 is a Titan Exotic that's made for brawling. As you use melee attacks against enemies, you build up energy. When someone finally punches you back, the damage you take from the melee is reduced, while the energy you've accumulated is released as an explosion that ravages anyone nearby. If you like close-range fights, ACD/0 Feedback Fence can help you win a lot of them, whether in the Crucible or while you're wandering the rest of the solar system.

The Stag (Warlock)

No Caption Provided

When things get dicey, The Stag helps keep you alive with the use of Rifts. While wearing the Exotic, you'll get Rift energy when you're critically wounded, allowing you to more quickly summon a Healing Rift to save your life. If you do happen to die, you'll leave a gift for your fireteam--a Healing Rift drops on your corpse when you go down, making it a little easier to revive you and for your teammates to weather the fight without you.
