Destiny 2: Where Is Xur This Week? Exotic Items / Location Guide (December 18-22)

Gear up for the return of the Trials of Osiris this weekend with a visit to Xur for new Exotics.

Comments

Destiny 2 finally sees the return of the Trials of Osiris this weekend, kicking off the first opportunity to earn some new Trials weapons in the Beyond Light expansion. You'll want to take the best possible gear into Destiny's toughest multiplayer challenge, which is why you should drop by and visit Xur this weekend to grab some new Exotics. Head to The EDZ, to the Winding Cove area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering The Jade Rabbit. Hunters can pick up the Foetracer helmet; for Titans, there's the Severance Enclosure chest armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Felwinter's Helm helmet.

Xur Location

Climb the cliff on the north end of Winding Cove to find Xur waiting for you near a crashed Fallen dropship.

Head to the Winding Cove transmat zone and spawn in, then jump on your sparrow and head north. Make your way to the northern edge of the area and either climb the rock wall there or find a cave pathway on the left side, near the curving highway road. You'll find Xur above, standing beside a crashed Fallen dropship.

Xur Exotic Items

Xur's weapon for this week is The Jade Rabbit, a highly lethal scout rifle with a ton of range and impact that'll serve you well in the Crucible and Trials. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram -- 97 legendary shards
  • The Jade Rabbit -- 29 legendary shards
  • Foetracer -- 23 legendary shards
  • Severance Enclosure -- 23 legendary shards
  • Felwinter's Helm -- 23 legendary shards
  • Xenology quest -- free

The Jade Rabbit (Scout Rifle)

For the most part, The Jade Rabbit is just an effective, powerful scout rifle that can hit enemies downrange easily for a lot of damage. Using it effectively requires a little planning about where you put your shots, though. If you chain body shots together, you'll get a damage bonus for your next precision shot, while also getting some ammo returned to the magazine--so you're rewarded for your accuracy. If you want a strong scout rifle for PvP especially, this is a good bet.

Foetracer (Hunter)

It may not be the sexiest Hunter Exotic, but Foetracer can be great for tracking your Crucible opponents and making sure to finish them off.

While there are spiffier, cooler-sounding Exotics to wear as a Hunter, Foetracer does a pretty simple and useful job, especially in the Crucible. The helmet marks enemies you target, which allows you to see them through walls and to keep track of them as they move around. When an enemy is marked while at low health, you deal bonus damage. In PvP situations, Foetracer makes it easier to keep track of your opponents and to make sure they go down once you start engaging them.

Severance Enclosure (Titan)

Turn enemies into bombs with melee kills and Finishers while wearing Severance Enclosure.
Turn enemies into bombs with melee kills and Finishers while wearing Severance Enclosure.

Severance Enclosure rewards you for trying to look as cool as possible. Whenever you kill an enemy with an elemental melee attack while wearing the Exotic, it creates an explosion. Using Finishers or landing melee final blows on tougher enemies create a bigger explosion that deals more damage--so start punching your foes and don't stop.

Felwinter's Helm (Warlock)

Like Severance Enclosure, Felwinter's Helm gives you benefits for melee and Finisher kills, releasing a burst of energy that weakens enemies, rather than blowing them up.
Like Severance Enclosure, Felwinter's Helm gives you benefits for melee and Finisher kills, releasing a burst of energy that weakens enemies, rather than blowing them up.

Warlocks get something similar to Severance Enclosure with Felwinter's Helm, although the effect is a little different. Landing Solar, Arc, and Void melee final blows on enemies releases a burst of energy that weakens other enemies nearby, with a bigger, longer-lasting burst coming when you use Finishers or land melee kills on tougher enemies.
