The weekend is upon us and that means Xur and his Exotics return to the solar system in Destiny 2. Fill out your collection to gear up for the new Proving Grounds Strike and Nightfall with something new from the snake-faced Exotics vendor. Here's where to find him and what he's offering this week.

Head to Nessus, to the Watcher's Grave area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Arbalest. Hunters can pick up the Orpheus Rig leg armor; for Titans, there's the Lion Rampant leg armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Aeon Soul gauntlets.

Xur Location

Use the Watcher's Grave transmat zone on Nessus to get to Xur quickly. Hop on your sparrow and head north past the land tank, toward a big pink tree at the north end of the area. You'll have to climb up into its branches to find Xur, who stands on one, surveying the area.

Look for Xur in the huge tree at the north end of Watcher's Grave, past Empress Caiatl's land tank.

Xur Exotic Items

Xur brings Arbalest in his bag of goodies this week, a great gun for PvP combat. It's a kinetic linear fusion rifle whose powerful slugs are great for breaking shields. Enemies whose shields you knock out with the gun take additional damage from other kinetic weapons, which is extremely useful in the Crucible. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram -- 97 legendary shards
  • Arbalest -- 29 legendary shards
  • Orpheus Rig -- 23 legendary shards
  • Lion Rampant -- 23 legendary shards
  • Aeon Soul -- 23 legendary shards
  • Xenology quest -- free

Arbalest (Linear Fusion Rifle)

Arbalest can kill like a sniper rifle with a headshot, while rendering enemies vulnerable to kinetic weapons if you break their shields with it.

Arbalest is a well-loved option for PvP thanks to its versatility. The kinetic linear fusion rifle will drop Guardians with a headshot, giving it similar functionality to a sniper rifle. But break an enemy's shield with it and they'll be weakened, taking additional damage from kinetic weapons--so if your first shot doesn't kill your target, your second one almost definitely will. That makes Arbalest useful in PvE situations as well, but if your aim is true, try it in the Crucible.

Orpheus Rig (Hunter)

Using your Nightstalker super for crowd control is hugely beneficial with Orpheus Rig--this is one that should be in every Hunter's collection.

In your rotation of Hunter Exotics, Orpheus Rig is a great standby. The leg armor is hugely beneficial when you use the Mobeius Quiver version of your Nightstalker super ability. You get more shots with the super, and every enemy you tether with it gives you ability energy, helping you recharge your super, melee, and grenade quickly and providing a whole lot of Orbs of Power for your teammates. You should definitely use Orpheus Rig any time you're in a PvE activity where you have to deal with a ton of enemies at once.

Fighting in the air using your Lift jump can make you tough to deal with as a Titan, and Lion Rampant makes you even more deadly. You get better maneuverability in the air when you wear these boots, while giving you more accurate hip-firing as you levitate. If you intend to come at enemies from the air, Lion Rampant will give you some helpful benefits.

Aeon Soul gives you some benefits depending on which perk you equip, but they're a lot more effective if you coordinate with a fireteam using Aeons.

The newly improved Aeon Exotics give you various benefits when you wear them, depending on which perk you choose to use. Each gives you a boost, while magnifying the benefits with a fireteam that also uses their own versions of Aeon gauntlets. If you've got a fireteam and want to create some useful synergies that create more Orbs of Power and speed your ability recovery, coordinate your outfits with the Aeon Exotics.
