Xur Location

Spawn in at the central transmat zone in the Tower and head left to enter the Hangar. When you hit the bottom of the stairs, turn left and head toward the edge of the area. Take some stairs up toward the catwalk and you'll find Xur waiting in the corner, enjoying the view of the Last City.

Look for Xur at the north end of the Hangar, up a flight of stairs on a catwalk.

Xur Exotic Items

This week, Xur has The Prospector, a powerful grenade launcher from Destiny 2's Year 1. The other notable item is The Bombardiers, the Hunter Exotic leg armor from the Season of Dawn, in case you missed it last season. If you're not a fan of those options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. He also has the Five of Swords challenge card, which lets you enable modifiers for Nightfall Strikes.

  • Exotic Engram -- 97 legendary shards
  • The Prospector -- 29 legendary shards
  • The Bombardiers -- 23 legendary shards
  • Doom Fang Pauldron -- 23 legendary shards
  • Crown of Tempests -- 23 legendary shards
  • Five of Swords -- free

The Prospector (Grenade Launcher)

The Prospector's controlled demolition capabilities allow you blow up a lot of enemies at once.
The Prospector's controlled demolition capabilities allow you blow up a lot of enemies at once.

The best use of The Prospector is blowing up a lot of area very quickly. The grenade launcher fires at full-auto and its explosives stick to surfaces and enemies as long as you hold down the trigger. Release it, and all the grenades explode together, which makes it great for crowd control, holding territory in the Crucible, or putting a lot of punishment on a boss.

The Bombardiers (Hunter)

If you missed The Bombardiers last season, now's your chance to grab this dodge-enhancing Exotic.

Last season's new Exotic armor for Hunters add a little trick to your class ability. When you dodge, the leg armor leaves behind an explosive that detonates after a short duration, hurting anyone too close. If you're doing a lot of close-quarters fighting, The Bombardiers can give you an edge, or keep chasing enemies off your back as you escape them.

The Titan Doom Fang Pauldron creates a feedback loop of Void melee-killing power. When you land a Void melee kill, you get Super energy, and melee kills landed while your Sentinel Shield Super is active charge your Shield Throw ability. Land hits with Shield Throw, and your Super gets extended. If you're a Sentinel Shield player, Doom Fang can be great in PvE or the Crucible, helping you go all Captain America on the other team.

A well-loved Exotic that should be in every Warlock's collection, Crown of Tempests amps up your Arc abilities and Stormtrance Super. Landing Arc ability kills with the helmet speeds your ability recharges and extends your Super--the more kills you get, the longer your Super is active. Crown of Tempests is an old favorite in the Crucible for its ability-speeding and Super-extending qualities.
