Destiny 2: Where Is Xur? Exotic Items & Location (May 1-5)

Turn the tides on the Guardian Games with some fresh Exotics from Xur this weekend.

Comments

Titans have been dominating Destiny 2's Guardian Games event so far, but there's still time to turn the tables. Weekend vendor Xur can help: he's back with another slate of Exotics for you to expand your collection. Here's where to find him.

Head to Titan to find Xur this week, aboard The Rig. For his weapon, Xur is offering Monte Carlo. Hunters can pick up the Khepri's Sting gauntlets; for Titans, there's the Severance Enclosure chest armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Skull of Dire Ahamkara helmet.

Xur Location

Spawn in at the transmat location on The Rig and head northeast, under the archways and catwalks. When you come out the other side, head into the low, orange building on your left, near the edge of the platform. You'll find Xur hanging out in the dark inside the building.

Look for Xur in a small, orange building near the north edge of The Rig.

This week, Xur is offering Monte Carlo, an auto rifle that pairs extremely well with melee-focused builds. It's one of two Year Three Exotics Xur is offering this week; the other is Severance Enclosure, a Titan Exotic from the Season of Dawn. If you're not a fan of those options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. He also has the Five of Swords challenge card, which lets you enable modifiers for Nightfall Strikes.

  • Exotic Engram -- 97 legendary shards
  • Monte Carlo -- 29 legendary shards
  • Khepri's Sting -- 23 legendary shards
  • Severance Enclosure -- 23 legendary shards
  • Skull of Dire Ahamkara -- 23 legendary shards
  • Five of Swords -- free

Punching and shooting go hand-in-hand with Monte Carlo, an Exotic that launched with the Shadowkeep expansion. Scoring melee kills or kills with the gun increases Monte Carlo's damage, while damaging enemies reduces your melee cooldown timer, and killing enemies has a chance of fully charging your melee. For front-line fighters, it's a great combination in both PvE and PvP situations.

Khepri's Sting (Hunter)

Punch people and then vanish in smoke like a ninja with Khepri's Sting.

Khepri's Sting is a good Exotic to pair with Monte Carlo for Hunters. Punching an enemy with a full melee charge drops a Smoke Bomb on them, disorienting your target, while giving you Truesight so you can see through walls while you're in the smoke. Your normal melee smoke bombs also give increased damage to enemies.

Severance Enclosure (Titan)

Hitting people so hard with melees that they explode is definitely a Titan thing.

Another good one with Monte Carlo, Titans this week get Severance Enclosure, an Exotic that was just released last season. When you kill an enemy with a fully charged melee strike while wearing this Exotic, it causes an explosion, damaging any enemies nearby. Final melee blows or Finishers on tougher enemies in PvE create even bigger, more damaging explosions.

Skull of Dire Ahamkara (Warlock)

A Skull of Dire Ahamkara is a good Exotic to pack on tough PvE missions where you need to clear out a lot of enemies fast.

Even though it was nerfed some time ago, the Skull of Dire Ahamkara is a go-to Exotic for Warlocks. The helmet gives you extra damage resistance when you cast your Nova Bomb Super--great for firing it off in the Crucible--and gives you Super energy on Nova Bomb kills. You won't get your Super back after one Nova Bomb like you did in the days of the Forsaken expansion, but the gains are still very useful in tough PvE missions.
