Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, the game's next DLC expansion, goes live this week, and if you want to get ready for it with a pre-order, then there are some things you need to know. We've slapped together a guide of all the bonuses that came with the various versions, including unique cosmetic items and an exclusive Exotic rocket launcher.

First thing you need to know is Destiny 2 is going free-to-play with the release of Shadowkeep on October 1. This new version of Destiny 2 is called New Light and includes everything but the annual pass and Forsaken expansion. Thankfully, you don't have to own Forsaken to access any content from Shadowkeep. Unlike all previous Destiny 2 expansions, there is no physical edition for Shadowkeep, so your choices are limited to your respective platform's digital storefronts.

In addition to the expansion, you'll also get the Season of the Undying's season pass. Of course, the Season of the Undying will only be active for three months, so if you pass on pre-ordering and pick up Shadowkeep in the future, then it's important to know that you'll get the season pass for whichever season is currently active at the time.

In addition to the new expansion, October 1 marks the day Destiny 2 on PC migrates from Battle.net to Steam. Please check out the links below to learn how to set this up, so your account is ready on day one. We've also provided a link that teaches you how to set up cross-save, allowing you to play on multiple platforms. Unfortunately, however, you will need to own the expansions on every platform you wish to play on.
