Destiny 2: Beyond Light Preorders: Next-Gen Upgrades, Special Editions, And More

Destiny 2 is heading into its fourth year, and it's about to kick things off with a major expansion. Beyond Light is the next big DLC for the RPG shooter, and it releases November 10. With it comes a new campaign and location as well as many smaller changes that will shape Destiny 2 for the next year. Beyond Light is currently available to preorder on PS4, Xbox One, Steam, and Stadia. If you're thinking of picking up the next-gen consoles--the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S--then you'll be happy to know the game will upgrade for free when Beyond Light releases.

Season of Arrivals kicked off back in June, continuing the story of the Guardians in their ongoing battle to save humanity. The chain of events in Season 11 will lead into the upcoming expansion. As a new power emerges from the ancient pyramid ship above Europa, Jupiter's frozen moon, the Guardians will be called to investigate its harsh frontier, infiltrate the Golden Age Braytech facility, and discover its secrets. The expansion introduces a new elemental power, Stasis, and a brand-new six-person raid in the Deep Stone Crypt underneath the frozen tundra.

There are also a number of expansions planned for the years to come. Witch Queen is set for 2021, while Lightfall will launch in 2022. According to Bungie, the next expansions will mark the beginning of a new era in Destiny. Destiny 2: Beyond Light is also getting a Collector's Edition, but it's only available directly from the Bungie Store. It comes with everything in the Digital Deluxe edition as well as even more bonuses, and it's available for $200. If you want the collector's edition on its own without the game code, it's available separately for $130. Unfortunately, all versions of this edition are currently sold out, but it'll hopefully get restocked before launch.
