Deconstruction Crew

It's a blast from the past, but if you loved the NES game Wrecking Crew, you'll be drooling over its new Super Famicom sequel.

Comments

The Super Famicom still has a healthy life in Japan, where Nintendo's Nintendo Power service (yes, service, not the magazine) delivers a new menu of games for players to choose from. The idea goes like this: a blank flash ROM cartridge can be purchased for about US$35. Through a simple vending machine interface at a local game or convenience store, players can choose which game or games they'd like to be put on the cartridge and play at home.

Well, Nintendo Co. Ltd. is offering a new version of Wrecking Crew, one of the original NES releases by Nintendo, called Wrecking Crew '98, through the Nintendo Power system. The game includes the original NES version of Wrecking Crew, plus an updated, Super Famicom enhanced version of the game.

Does this make you wonder why Nintendo doesn't release some of these Nintendo Power games over here in a bonus cartridge? F-Zero Grand Prix and the Zelda remix were both lost to a pay-per-play system that we unfortunately have no access to in the US. Oh well, we can at least drool over the pictures, right?
