Dead By Daylight Is Free To Play And Hugely Discounted On Steam This Weekend
Try the multiplayer horror game this weekend and see if it spooks you.
Dead By Daylight is free to play on Steam this weekend, letting newcomers check out the 4-on-1 multiplayer game. Dead by Daylight pits four people against one human-controlled bad guy, and over time it's been updated to include many classic movie monsters in it.
You can play as--or fend off--Leatherface, Freddy Kruger, Jigsaw, and the Demogorgon across the game's DLC. But before worrying about that, you can check out the base game for free until January 26.
If you find that you like it, both the base game and the deluxe edition, which comes with a soundtrack, digital art book, and two Payday 2 masks, are on sale for 60% off. You can also buy the Stranger Things edition, which comes with the Stranger Things DLC, at a 53% discount. Most DLC packs are discounted by 40%.
Dead by Daylight earned a 6/10 in our original 2016 review, and reviewer Joab Gilroy wrote that it "executes the concept of a competitive horror game well, but only to a point." It has grown and expanded since then.
