DC Wants To Make Another Film This Year--But We Don't Know What It Will Be

Sirens, Corps, or Flash?

With the news that The Batman won't start production until next year--and with The Flash currently without a director--DC only has Aquaman shooting in 2017. However, it has been reported that the studio is still hoping to get another film in front of the cameras this year.

Variety writer Justin Kroll revealed the news on Twitter. He stated:

It is unclear which DC property would go into production in 2017. There are several contenders--Suicide Squad director David Ayer is set to reunite with Harley Quinn actress Margot Robbie for Gotham City Sirens for example. There is also a Green Lantern Corps movie in the works, and Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman is attached to Dark Universe, an adaptation of the Justice League Dark comics.

In addition, Suicide Squad 2 is expected at some point, and The Flash remains a possibility for a 2017 shoot. However, the movie lost two directors within a few months of each other last year, and in January it was reported that it is being completely rewritten.

Aquaman is the only DC movie with a confirmed release date beyond 2017, and even this recently moved back two months. It is now coming out on December 21, 2018. This week, director James Wan posted images of the exotic locations he is scouting for the shoot--check them out here.
