Codemasters has announced the roster of artists for the European version of its PlayStation 2 music creation game, MTV Music Generator 2. The game will include tracks from famous house DJ David Morales, MTV DJ Funkmaster Flex, and acts such as Apollo 440, Cassandra Fox, Bentley Rhythm Ace, Dano, Halo Varga, Tony Hewitt, and Zombie Nation. Gorillaz, fronted by Blur's Damon Albarn and cult artist Jamie Hewlett, will also be featured in the game.

"Signing David Morales for MTV Music Generator 2 is perfect for us; his fame on the international club circuit and the acclaim for his studio work embodies the aspirations of the software's users," Mike Hayes, marketing director at Codemasters, said. "Also, the mix of big-name and breaking artists we've secured gives a great spread across the musical styles featured in the software."

In MTV Music Generator 2, players can listen to and edit the music tracks and create their own video sequences to run with the music. Players can also compose their own unique tracks by selecting and mixing over 10,000 editable riffs and samples. Musical styles featured include pop, house, hip hop, garage, indie, R&B, rock, and trance.

A list of artists for the North American version has not been announced at this time.
