Netflix's popular series Stranger Things is coming to an end, and series star David Harbour thinks it's about time. Speaking to Discussing Film, Harbour said it's bittersweet to know Stranger Things is finally coming to an end after so many years, but he feels the time is right.

"What's funny is when I started the show, I never ever wanted it to end. That's why I love the show. I think it's a great show, even if I wasn't in it. Now we're almost nine years from filming the first season, and I think it is time for it to end. But it is, of course, very bittersweet. You know, there's a sadness there. But also, we've all grown up. It is time for us to leave that nest and try other things and different projects," Harbour said.

In addition to the cast moving on, Harbour said he's excited to see what Stranger Things creators Ross and Matt Duffer do next. "So it is bittersweet, but it's definitely time," Harbour said.

Stranger Things debuted in 2016 and quickly became incredibly popular. A fifth season is in the works now and is expected to be the show's last, though Netflix is plotting spin-offs.

As for Harbour, he plays Hopper on Stranger Things, and his character has had quite the journey over the four seasons so far. Harbour has a number of upcoming projects in the works, including the Gran Turismo movie based on the PlayStation game and the MCU film Thunderbolts.
