Now Playing: Dark Souls Trilogy - Official Announcement Trailer | Gamescom 2018

Bandai Namco has announced the Dark Souls Trilogy, a new compilation pack that brings together the three challenging games into one package. The Dark Souls Trilogy launches on October 19 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a price tag of $80 USD.

The package includes Dark Souls: Remastered, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition. So that's all three games in their best form with all previously released DLC. The games come in a steelbook case. The first Souls game, Demon's Souls, is not included.

"The Dark Souls Trilogy gives those who haven't played the Dark Souls series a great opportunity to jump in and experience what has become one of the most influential video game series of the past decade," Bandai Namco executive Jenn Tsang said in a statement. "The magic of Dark Souls lies within its ability to challenge players with highly rewarding gameplay and deliver a euphoric sense of accomplishment after beating a particularly tough boss, or area in the game."

According to Bandai Namco, the Dark Souls Trilogy will see a "limited" release for its physical versions in America. The game will also be available digitally.

While no new Dark Souls games have been announced, Dark Souls: Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 19 (the same day the Trilogy comes out for PS4 and Xbox One). Bandai Namco is also releasing the Solaire of Astora Amiibo on that date.

Bandai Namco announced the Dark Souls Trilogy as part of Gamescom. Dark Souls developer From Software's next game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, got a new trailer and news about a collector's edition at the big-time European gaming show. Switch is left out :/

Pretty cool for those that don't own them already. But most of us who play DS own all of them already. Now Demon Souls remake on the other hand. Yes please.

Cash grab! You can buy all three new for $60 or less.

Avatar image for j3diknightdave

@srfilk86: Glad to see 1 smart post. Just buy them standalone... DS3 fire fades edition (ALL DLC) is $20 Brand New on eBay right now (even cheaper if you buy used) DS2 SotFS (ALL DLC) is as low as $15 on PSN (when on sale) wait until the new trilogy is released to buy DSR as a standalone most likely for a discounted price. If you don't want to wait for DSR to go on sale, You can pay that crazy ass, HIGHLY OVERPRICED $40 and still be under the $80 for the trilogy with ALL DLC and have it ALL (minus a stupid steel case, 2 months before this "special trilogy" is released. Don't spend NO MORE than $20 on DSR, wait until it goes on sale and buy it ALL for only $55 (save $30 after taxes) and get everything (minus the steel case) that is where the extra $30 bucks is coming from, that silly case.

Here I am still waiting on Demon Souls Remaster.

Expensive. I may think about this - there's no doubt it's a lot of game for the money - though I never really enjoyed these games. I only tried 1 & 2 and they were so fucking hard that every time I played them, whatever enjoyment I felt was totally overshadowed by frustration by the time I switched it off.

YOU DIED! Oh f**k off.

And yes, I know, "git gud".

Well... this is pretty much an instant buy.

Quick question.

-Who are you talking to, Ninja?-

Which of the Dark Souls gamesis the best?

My ticket into this series it seems. That's a hefty price though

Avatar image for Renunciation

@xenomorphalien: $27 per game with all DLC included isn't really all that bad.

It'll likely be a bargain, considering the time you spend playing Dark Souls Trilogy vs. the combined prices of other games you might be playing instead. (I spent roughly 1,000 hours between each of the three games.)

Avatar image for xenomorphalien

@Renunciation: Thing is though I can buy these games separately for a cheaper overall price.

Avatar image for Renunciation

@xenomorphalien: That sounds like your ticket into the series, then.

Cool. Here waiting for bloodborne 2, get to work from software!

@sakaixx: Also here waiting for a Demons Souls remake or remaster.

A Demon’s Souls remake is at the top of my wishlist followed by Bloodborne 2.

@gamingdevil800: The sad thing is Demon's Souls is pretty much a Sony game, so they should be able to remaster it.

Bloodborne is DEFINITELY a Sony game, so they've got no reason to drag their asses on that one.

I wouldn't even bother to buy the remaster if the collection is available at a later date. Kind of a bummer for switch owners.

Avatar image for gzaface

@rmiller365: The switch can't handle DS3

Avatar image for Barighm

Gah! Demon's Souls is the one we're all clamouring for! All the other games are as common as dirt.

Avatar image for leviathanxx

Why even specify the lack of Demons Souls, A SONY IP, at all? And why would anyone expect a Dark Souls Trilogy bundle to include a Fourth, Unrelated game? Ffs really?

Avatar image for 93ChevyNut

@leviathanxx: Because Eddie.

Avatar image for gamingdevil800

I should've waited...

Avatar image for XT14

@gamingdevil800: I almost felt the same, but that game lasts forever. Next gen there will be some even better compilation and the next and the next. May as well just buy what you want that day since a GOTY edition or Remaster, or whatnot is always right around the corner.

*Side grammar nazi note: should "have"

@Xylymphydyte: hmm, my bad. I thought you wrote "should of" but maybe I misread.

I already own all three but that steel case is calling me
