Dark Souls 2 ships 1.2 million copies in three weeks -- How many times have you died so far?

From Software's latest role-playing game, Dark Souls II, shipped 1.2 million copies in three weeks, publisher Namco Bandai announced today as part of its latest earnings report for the year ended March 31. This figure does not include sales of the PC version (which launched in April), nor sales from Japan, a region in which, as Joystiq notes, From Software publishes the game on its own.

To put Dark Souls II's 1.2 million shipped figure into context, the original Dark Souls shipped about 1.5 million units in a month. That game went on to sell about 2.4 million units to date.

Other top-sellers for Namco Bandai this fiscal year included God Eater 2 (700,000 units in Japan only), Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z (620,000 units worldwide), JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle (550,000 units in Japan only), and Disney Magic Castle My Happy Life (500,000 units in Japan only).

Overall, Namco Bandai posted revenue of ¥507 billion ($4.9 billion) for the year, a 4.2 percent increase from last year. Profit was a different story, however, falling 22.6 percent to ¥25 billion ($246.2 million)
