The upcoming PlayStation 4 edition of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin will output in native 1080p resolution at 60 frames-per-second. Sony confirmed the resolution and frame rate details in a post on the PlayStation Blog.

This is an improvement over the 720p/30fps technical benchmark achieved by the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the original Dark Souls II. Bandai Namco has not yet confirmed resolution and frame rate details for the Xbox One edition of Scholar of the First Sin.

For more on Scholar of the First Sin's graphics and how they compare to when we saw the game last on previous-generation consoles, check out the video above. And for even more on the game itself, you can read GameSpot's in-depth preview of the game.

Scholar of the First Sin, which is also coming to PC, launches April 7. The bundle includes the original Dark Souls II, as well as previously released DLC Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King, and even more.
