Dark Messiah demo now available

Half-Life 2 worked great as a first-person shooter, but fantasy fans may have thought it lacked a few things--namely swords and sorcery. Ubisoft's upcoming game Dark Messiah of Might and Magic should satisfy those customers. The first-person shooter/slasher/spellcaster is set in a familiar fantasy world and runs on the same engine that powered HL2, Valve's Source engine.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic doesn't come out until October, but Ubisoft isn't waiting until then to let gamers give the FPS a whirl. A single-player demo was released today and is now available for download from GameSpot. The demo weighs in at 1.45GB and lets players try out the warrior, mage, and assassin classes in the world of Ashan.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic is being developed by Arkane Studios (Arx Fatalis) and has not yet been priced or rated. For more information on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
