Mythic Entertainment has officially announced Dark Age of Camelot: Trials of Atlantis, the official expansion to its massively multiplayer online RPG. In the expansion, players will be able to swim to the underwater city of Atlantis, where they will have to undergo a series of challenges left behind by the city's original inhabitants. These challenges have been specifically designed for high-level players. As they progress through the challenges, players will receive a corresponding master level.

The expansion will also feature one new race per realm as well as an upgraded graphics engine that will make vegetation and other environmental details much more realistic. Additional character customization options will also be included.

"Once again Mythic is extending the world of Dark Age of Camelot," said Mark Jacobs, president and CEO of Mythic Entertainment. "Fans will be excited by the new quests, new races, and master level system, not to mention our new graphic engine that will deliver sophisticated underwater and improved aboveground visuals."

Dark Age of Camelot: Trials of Atlantis is scheduled for release later this year.
