Actor Danny DeVito is in discussions to star in Disney's live-action Dumbo movie that will be directed by Tim Burton, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

DeVito would play the character Medici, the owner of a small circus that gets bought out by the bad guy Vandemere. THR also reports that actress Eva Green (Casino Royale, Dark Shadows) is in talks to play a trapeze artists employed by Vandemere.

There will reportedly be four human leads in the movie, alongside Dumbo the elephant who will be digitally produced

DeVito has played a circus operator before, as he did that in Burton's Big Fish starring Ewan McGregor.

The original animated Dumbo came out in 1941. The live-action version is just one of many that Disney is producing; others include Aladdin, Mulan, and The Little Mermaid. The next one, Beauty and the Beast, opens in theaters on March 17.
