Daniel Radcliffe Denies Wolverine Rumors, Explains Why He Got Buff

The Harry Potter star got shredded for a different reason.

A promo for the new season of Miracle Workers showed star Daniel Radcliffe looking extremely shredded. This prompted unfounded speculation that he might have gotten buff not just for that show, but also to play Wolverine in an upcoming project. This is not the case, though.

Radcliffe himself told Vanity Fair in a lie detector interview that he did not start the rumor that he might play Wolverine. "I got buff because I am obsessive," the actor said, adding that his parents are "insane fitness people" and this was passed on to him.

"No Wolverine. Flattered, but no," he said (via Entertainment Weekly). You can watch the entire lie detector video below.

Hugh Jackman will play Wolverine once again in 2024's Deadpool 3. Jackman's version of Wolverine died in the movie Logan, but death is only a minor inconvenience when it comes to Hollywood storytelling. With the alternate timelines that Marvel loves so much, anything is possible.

As for Radcliffe, he is now starring in the Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along. The cast also includes Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez. Radcliffe is best known for playing Harry Potter in the movie series from 2001-2011.

In 2022, he played "Weird Al" Yankovic in a drama about the singer's life.
