The Daisenryaku series has been one of the more popular long-running strategy franchises in Japan (next to the Super Robot Taisen franchise). Developers SystemSoft Alpha will be bringing a high-definition version of Daisenryaku Perfect: Champion of the Battlefield, which was released on the PSP in Japan last May, to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Gamers control a bevy of military units, ranging from tanks to stealth bombers, and play out turn-based battles on a hexagon-tiled map. This iteration includes extensive editing features, such as the ability to create new maps that are as complex as the pre-included maps, to customize troop positions and winning conditions, and to create brand-new troop types. The game will also have online multiplayer on each console's respective network that supports up to eight players and 3D cutscenes when units engage each other on the map.

The game is set to be released this June and will be priced at 8,190 yen ($101).
