GMX Media today announced that it has secured the worldwide rights to D-Day 1944: Invasion of Europe. The Combat Flight Simulator 3 add-on, which is currently scheduled for release early next month, has been developed by an international team with members from Canada, Britain, Australia, and New Zealand.

D-Day 1944: Invasion of Europe adds a number of new features to Microsoft's Combat Flight Simulator 3, including aircraft, troops, sounds, scenery, bases, pilots, and the nations of Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The game's missions track the D-day campaign battle by battle, allowing players to re-create such pivotal operations as the Allied landings, the battle for Caen, the battle for Villers-Bocage, and the American race across the Cotentin Peninsula. All of the historical divisions and weapons are in place, and the map moves each day just as it did back in 1944.

All of the aircraft involved in the campaign have been reskinned with D-day stripes, and a number of them will boast all-new damage and flight models. New aircraft introduced in the add-on will include the Spitfire Mk Vb for the Canadian squadrons, the Mosquito FB VI for the British, and the Focke Wulfe 190 D9 for the Germans.

D-Day 1944: Invasion of Europe boasts a dynamic campaign structure as well as four linear campaigns for the forces of America, Great Britain, Canada, and New Zealand. The linear campaigns contain around 30 missions each, while the dynamic campaign, which allows players to choose from a larger selection of aircraft, spans 86 days with three missions per day.
