Cyberpunk 2077's Latest Update Added A New Bug, CD Projekt Red Confirms; Workaround Available

The latest patch for Cyberpunk 2077 did not exactly function as intended, as this update actually introduced a new bug. The developers have now announced they will release a hotfix for this problem, while also offering a potential workaround in the short term.

"We're working on the issue where the conversation with Takemura may not start during the quest 'Down on the Street' for and plan to release a hotfix to address it as soon as possible," the studio said.

Until that fix is deployed, CD Projekt Red advised players to load an earlier save and then go through these steps to potentially get around the issue.

1. Load a gamesave before Takemura and V leave Wakako's office.
2. Finish the conversation with Takemura outside the office right away
3. Right after the finished conversation and when the quest was updated, skip 23h.
4. See if the holocall triggers and the dialogue with Takemura starts

Looking ahead, CD Projekt Red said that it is continuing to work on Patch 1.2 and "other upcoming updates," while also listening to feedback and fixing any bugs Cyberpunk 2077 players may encounter. It's unclear how many updates CD Projekt Red is currently hammering away on for Cyberpunk 2077, but the game's free DLC should be available sometime later this year.

As for its multiplayer, the studio confirmed that it wouldn't come out until at least 2022. This will apparently be more like a standalone game than a separate mode. Earlier rumors and reports suggested a heist mode could be part of this multiplayer experience.

Cyberpunk 2077 sold 13 million copies right away, including refunds, making it one of the most successful RPG launches in the history of video games. However, the last-gen console editions are experiencing a number of bugs, which have prompted class-action lawsuits.
