Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most hotly anticipated games around right now, and publisher CD Projekt Red has now given us slightly more information to whet our appetites. The company has confirmed that its futuristic RPG will be at E3 this year.

CD Projekt Red did not elaborate on the news. It's possible we may find out a release date, which as yet has not been announced, or another extended gameplay video similar to the one released following Gamescom last year--you can watch that above. CD Projekt Red refused to be drawn on what to expect at E3 when contacted by GameSpot.

Cyberpunk was revealed at E3 2018 after a six-year wait for more information following an initial announcement in 2012. It's loosely based on Mike Pondsmith's tabletop game Cyberpunk 2020, except set in a "dark future" of 2077 where advanced technologies have become both "the salvation and the curse of humanity." The game promises a nonlinear story designed for "mature" players and is set in the metropolis of Night City. According to CD Projekt Red, it will have some sandbox elements and a form of multiplayer.

The studio has taken steps to stress that Cyberpunk 2077 is a "true RPG" and definitely not a multiplayer shooter. There's no confirmed release date, but the game will come out for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

E3 2019, as usual, is to be held in Los Angeles, California this summer. The show runs from June 12-14.
