The 3DS's third-party software lineup shaped up a bit today, and that shape is a cube. Ubisoft today announced Cubic Ninja, a puzzle-action title set for release on Nintendo's glasses-free 3D handheld this summer.

Cubic Ninja will be playable by titling the 3DS or just using the analog pad.

As the name suggests, Cubic Ninja will see players step into the role of CC, a blocky master of ninjitsu. The game will be controllable entirely by tilting or turning the system, but gamers will also have the option of using the system's analog pad. If the game's more than 100 action-puzzle levels prove wanting, players can make their own challenges and share them with other players. On top of that, players will be able to record replays of their fastest runs on levels and share those with friends as well.

Cubic Ninja is being developed by AQ Interactive. Though much of the company's work has never been released in the West, gamers may be aware of AQ through its Korg DS-10 Synthesizer utility for the original DS, or its critically panned Vampire Rain games on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
