Crysis Remastered System Requirements Aren't Out Of This World

You needed top-of-the-range hardware to run Crysis back in 2007, but that isn't the case with its remaster.

Whether your PC could run Crysis or not was a viable benchmark for its capabilities back when the sci-fi shooter launched in 2007. After a two-month delay, Crysis Remastered is hitting the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Epic Games Store on September 18, and you won't need to break the bank this time around to get it running.

Developer Crytek has revealed the minimum and recommended specs for Crysis Remastered on PC, which you can see on the game's Epic Games Store page. As with most PC requirements, Crytek doesn't state what type of performance and visual fidelity these specs are intended for. If you're hoping to take advantage of the remaster's new software-based ray tracing and still see decent performance, for example, it's unlikely that the recommended specs will be enough.

Either way, Crysis Remastered isn't the hardware-hungry shooter the original game once was, even when you factor in the addition of new graphical features like improved textures and assets, reworked lighting, and state-of-the-art depth fields.
