Crysis Port News Is Being Teased [Update]
The Crysis Twitter account has suddenly reactivated after more than three years, hinting at an impending announcement.
Update: This news is now confirmed via leaked Crysis announcements, with the remastered game coming to PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Only the first game appears to be getting the treatment, but Crytek has not made an official statement yet.
Original story follows:
Something related to the Crysis series appears to be getting teased, after a long period where the franchise has laid dormant. The official Twitter account has begun tweeting messages for the first time in years, suggesting an announcement involving the first-person shooter series is on the way.
The first message simply says "Receiving Data." But it's also the first new tweet from the account since December 2016, so the message coming out of the blue seems likely to be hinting at something.

The second is addressed to "Nomad," a reference to Jake "Nomad" Dunn, the hero of the first Crysis game. The sequels featured different protagonists, so invoking Nomad could indicate a plot connection to that first game, or a remaster.

"Crysis 3 is fantastic to look at, successfully portraying an uneasy partnership of the natural and the artificial," Kevin VanOrd wrote in GameSpot's Crysis 3 review. "As the story presses on, the conflict deepens and the visuals darken; it's as if you can feel the evil spreading throughout the city. It's unfortunate that the game doesn't reach the heights of its predecessors. The campaign is several hours shorter than Crysis 2's, and doesn't reproduce the thrills that lit up the previous games. Yet on its own terms, this is a full-featured sci-fi shooter that makes it a lot of fun to torture extraterrestrial abominations with the burning rage of their own weapons."
