Focus Home Interactive has released a new trailer for Call of Cthulhu ahead of E3, offering a tease of the new horror game based on H.P. Lovecraft's short story of the same name.

More specifically, Call of Cthulhu is the video game adaptation of Chaosium's pen-and-paper RPG. It's being developed by French studio Cyanide Studio, which previously worked on Blood Bowl, Styx: Master of Shadows, and the Game of Thrones RPG.

A press release describes Call of Cthulhu as "an RPG-investigation" game. It puts you in the shoes of a private investigator, Edward Pierce, in 1920s-era Boston as he investigates the death of a woman and her family.

As you make your way through the game and get "closer to Cthulhu's sphere of influence, madness will progressively engulf your senses, leaving you to increasingly question what is real and what is illusory."
