When Rock Band launched on November 20, 2007, it did so with a collection of 15 downloadable songs, including a cover version of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Fortunate Son." Several years and more than 1,500 additions to that downloadable catalog later, gamers are getting the chance to play the real thing.

Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that next week's Rock Band Music Store update will feature a dozen original master recordings of Creedence Clearwater Revival's biggest hits. The songs will be available on the Wii, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 starting July 6 for $2 (160 Microsoft points, 200 Wii points) each. Gamers on the PS3 and Xbox 360 will also be able to download the full slate of 12 tracks together for $20 (1,600 Microsoft points).
