Most of today's retail attention is aimed at Amazon Prime Day. But even though the online mega-retailer has cut prices on many items across nearly all categories, not everything is on sale. In an effort to share some of the spotlight, the retailer Rakuten is cutting 20% off prices on everything on its site--provided you enter the promo code SAVE20 at checkout. That means you don't need to wait around hoping Amazon does a Lightning Deal on the item you want. You can just buy it from Rakuten.

But as with all good things in life, this deal has some drawbacks. Like Prime Day, the promo code is only good until tonight at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET. The maximum discount you can get is $50, and the deal will end early if "promotional funding is exhausted." That's from the fine print. What's not in the fine print is that a number of items on the site have seen their prices cranked up higher than normal, meaning you won't actually get 20% off the MSRP for everything.

Despite those drawbacks, some good gaming deals are available at Rakuten today. You can get a Nintendo Switch with Neon Joy-Cons for $272 or one with gray Joy-Cons for $280 (down from $300). A PlayStation Pro 1 TB is down to $336 (from $400). Controllers for Switch, Xbox One, and PS4 can be had for between $40 and $50.

As for games, the deals are a bit more spotty. Even so, you can get Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for Switch for $47. PS4 owners can pick up God of War for $53, and Xbox One owners can grab Sunset Overdrive or Titanfall 2 for $7 each.
