Corsair Purchases Streaming Visuals Company To Grow Elgato

Corsair has added another big brand in streaming to its portfolio, expanding Elgato to be a one-stop shop for any streaming needs you might have.

Corsair today announced the purchase of Visuals by Impulse, one of the biggest streaming visuals companies in the world. Corsair will incorporate it under the Elgato umbrella, which it purchased in 2018 and has greatly expanded to produce high-quality streaming gear. It's also just the latest in a string of acquisitions at Corsair, who purchased Origin PC and SCUF Gaming in 2019.

"Design is a crucial element shaping a creator's identity, and VBI has been at the forefront of making beautiful and interactive design accessible to anyone. Together with the talented team at VBI, we plan to push the boundaries of what design can mean for creators."

Elgato already ships software that lets you stream directly to your favorite platform, so it's likely that Visuals by Impulse will be integrated into it to offer more options for personalizing your content. With Corsair's influence, Elgato has expanded from primarily producing capture cards to high-quality lighting, microphones, green screens, and more.

With this acquisition it's difficult to see what else Corsair might purchase to further consolidate the streaming market, but it's clear that it isn't always done when you think it is.
