Conflict: Desert Storm II – Back to Baghdad is the sequel to last year’s Conflict: Desert Storm, a squad-based action game set during the days of the first Iraqi conflict. Regardless of the recent war in Iraq, Back to Baghdad will not be set in modern times, instead remaining in the year 1991; the height of the original Desert Storm operation. You will be able to play as either the US Delta Force or the British SAS, and command a squad of four soldiers, including a team leader, demolitions expert, sniper and heavy weapons specialist. The game’s team-based style of play will let you to command all four members of your unit, allowing you to coordinate devastating strikes and attacks on enemy forces. 10 missions will be included in all, ranging from stealth-based rescue missions to massive tank battles.

Back to Baghdad will improve upon its predecessor’s combat engine, adding new features like weapon-specific targeting, a plethora of new weapons, vehicles, and enemy types, and significant improvements to the game’s combat A.I. on either side of the battlefield. Enemy troops will be able to communicate with one another and design specific plans of attack, and on your squad, your fellow soldiers will react dynamically to ambushes and other unexpected challenges. Additionally, you will have the ability to train your soldiers in a number of military disciplines, improving their skills in the field of battle.

Conflict: Desert Storm II – Back to Baghdad is currently in development by Pivotal Games for the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PC, and is scheduled for release in the fall.
