Valve Software has launched a new Web site for Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, its upcoming first-person shooter. The new site contains a general overview of the game, as well as a gallery of screenshots.

The original Counter-Strike was developed as a multiplayer mod for the first-person shooter Half-Life, and it was released in retail stores as Half-Life: Counter-Strike in fall 2000. Counter-Strike: Condition Zero adds a number of new features to the game, most notably a complete single-player mode that lets players compete with and against computer-controlled opponents in a series of mission-based campaigns. The game includes more than 20 new missions set in a variety of locations around the world. In addition, it features enhanced character models, new weapons and equipment, and new weather effects.

Counter-Strike: Condition Zero is in codevelopment at Gearbox Software and Valve Software, and it is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2002. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game and visit the new official Web site.
