Company of Heroes getting company

THQ's PC real-time strategy game gets second stand-alone expansion next spring with Relic-developed Tales of Valor.

THQ is instituting a stop-loss program: Its World War II PC real-time strategy franchise, Company of Heroes, is returning for another tour of duty. As the second stand-alone expansion to the series, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor gives players new campaigns, units, multiplayer modes, and maps.

Tales of Valor is being developed by THQ-owned Relic Entertainment, the same studio behind 2006's Company of Heroes and last year's stand-alone expansion, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts. Relic also has a reputation for more fanciful real-time strategy, having created the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War series.

Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor is set for release in spring 2009. For more on the series, check out GameSpot's reviews of the original game and the Opposing Fronts follow-up.
