Electronic Arts has official Command & Conquer Remastered Collection news. The new C&C Remastered trailer has debuted ahead of the game's release in June, showing off the remastered cutscenes.

The Command & Conquer Remastered Collection reveal trailer gives us our first extended look at the package, which includes the original and Red Alert with their expansions. The games feature remastered audio and visuals, including 4K support. They also include reworked multiplayer built on dedicated servers meant to discourage cheating, as well as custom matches, one-on-one quickmatch mode, and lobby chat.

The series is famous for its FMV cutscenes, and these are also getting the remastered treatment in the collection. The original footage was upscaled rather than reshooting it in order to preserve the nostalgia, and the development team used AI in order to improve the resolution. Developer Petroglyph Games contains members of the original Westwood Studios team.

EA's other Command & Conquer game is the free-to-play mobile game Command & Conquer Rivals. It's a simpler game, but still requires you to master your army's units in order to overwhelm your opponent. With no new traditional game announced for the series, players weren't too pleased when it was announced.

The game will release June 5, 2020 for PC.

I just recently remembered I never finished Command & Conquer: Red Alert that I got when I bought The First Decade years ago. I still had it on my computer but it wouldn't run properly. I'm going to have to fix it.

I feel this is obligatory until proven wrong.

Blizzard: "No one can screw up a remaster of a classic game like us."

EA: "hold my beer."

But really EA. Please don't screw this up. Please don't screw this up. Please don't screw this up.

@Maize84: EA seems to be doing all the right moves with this one. They sub-contracted the work out to Petrogplyph. (That is comprised of a good bit of the the old Westwood Studios team) They got Frank Klepacki to do the music remastering, and additions. They brought back the old female voice announcer for new recordings. They used AI upscaling to update the FMV sequences. Dedicated servers for multiplayer...

I mean they are hitting some heavy things there. The C&C remasters is the release I look forward to most this year. Even more than Doom Eternal, and Doom 64, and I am really looking forward to them.
