Comic-Con@Home provided fans a behind-the-scenes look at Marvel's new docu-series, Marvel 616, which will take fans into the history of the Marvel universe. The show will be an anthology series designed to introduce new stories from the creators of some of Marvel's most iconic characters and stories, with each episode directed by different film makers. Sara Amos, Marvel's VP of Development in New Media, explained the concept: "If you look at the last 80 years of Marvel, an Iron Man story feels very different from a Jessica Jones store. All of our characters have a different tone and a different vibe. So when we looked back at our non-fiction stories, we wanted to respect that tradition."

She continued, "we have a lot of fans who know our history, right? We wanted to give them some surprises. But at the same time, we wanted to put together some pieces that a casual Marvel fan would fall in love with."

So, while MCU Phase 4 TV shows may be seeing some delays thanks to the pandemic-related shutdowns around the world (sorry, Falcon And Winter Soldier fans, that wait is going to be a bit longer than anticipated), there will still be some brand new Marvel content hitting the platform sooner rather than later. You can check out clips of the show now.

In the first clip, which comes from the fourth episode titled "Lost And Found," which is directed by Paul Scheer, we see legendary Marvel creators like Reginald Hudlin, G. Willow Wilson, and Gerry Dugan getting candid about their work and the inspiration they drew from for their respective runs on characters like Ms. Marvel and Black Panther. Their stories range from incredibly topical, as is the case with Hudlin, who wrote T'Challa's comics from 2005 to 2008 (and famously wrote the story where T'Challa married Storm of the X-Men). Others are--well, much less so, like Dugan who explains his interest in d-list nobody Doctor Druid by describing him as a "guy in a bathrobe" that looked like The Dude from The Big Lebowski.

The second clip, from Episode 2, titled "Higher, Further, Faster" and directed by Gillian Jacobs, is devoted entirely to Kamala Khan co-creators G. Willow Wilson and Sana Amanat who offer up their personal stories from their time spent creating Kamala as a character worthy of inheriting Carol Danvers' Ms. Marvel mantle--and about the hungry, underserved fanbase of young women who are eager to see themselves reflected back in the superhero stories they love. Kamala has certainly come a long way from her comic book roots and will be starring in the upcoming Avengers video game--so if you haven't done your research into her story, this would be a great place to start.

All 8 episodes of Marvel 616 will stream on exclusively Disney+.
