Cartoon combat, bloody horror, and a really fast car highlight the Warner Bros. booth at Comic-Con 2007.

SAN DIEGO--You'll excuse us if the first thing we noticed wasn't the games at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Comic-Con 2007 booth. That's because smack-dab in the middle of the booth was a replica model of the Mach 5, the sleek red and white speedster driven by that icon of 1960s cartoon style, Speed Racer. Of course, it's likely to be just the start of the Speed Racer hype, as the Wachowski Brothers will be writing and directing a live-action Speed Racer film due in 2008. Is it a safe bet that we'll be filling this space next year with details of a Speed Racer movie tie-in game? Our money says yes.

Two games were on hand this year at the Warner Bros. booth, and you'd be hard-pressed to find two more opposite titles: the sublimely grisly Clive Barker's Jericho was playable more or less side by side to the kid-friendly Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal, a third-person action game starring all the major cartoon players from the Looney Tunes universe. Here's hoping parents visiting the booth managed to steer any of their impressionable young ones toward the latter and away from the former before it was too late.
