Comedy Icon Jerry Stiller Passes Away At 92
Star of television and film, and father of Ben Stiller, passed away of natural causes.
Jerry Stiller, comedy legend and father of Ben Stiller, has passed away. Known to a generation as the curmudgeon and cantankerous Frank Constanza on Seinfeld as well as the similarly-played character Arthur Spooner on King of Queens, Stiller has a resume that spans 60 years across dozens of movies and television shows.
The news broke May 11 as Ben Stiller tweeted out that his father had died and within moments, well wishes poured in. Stars and creators like Ricky Gervais, Ben Schwartz, and Seth Rogen all sent their condolences and spoke in high regard of Stiller and his career.
I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad. pic.twitter.com/KyoNsJIBz5

His role on Seinfeld garnered his only Emmy nomination and Stiller was once nominated for a Grammy in 2001 for Best Spoken Word Album for his biography Married to Laughter: A Love Story Featuring Anne Meara.
Stiller had lost his wife, a legend in her own right Anne Meara, in 2015. The two met in a New York casting call in 1953 and a few short years later became the popular Stiller & Meara comedy duo who made their name in the 1960s with frequent performances on variety shows, like The Ed Sullivan Show.
Both father and son were able to appear alongside one another in a few movies including Disney's Heavyweights, Zoolander, and The Heartbreak Kid.
