Cobra Kai Season 3 Will Not Stream On YouTube - Report

Cobra Kai Season 3 likely won't stream on YouTube. So will it be on Netflix or Hulu?

Cobra Kai is easily the best show on YouTube Premium. In fact, its second season made our list of the best shows of 2019,. But Season 3 of YouTube Premium's Cobra Kai has yet to premiere, and now the show has run into a new obstacle. According to a new report, when the next chapter in the Karate Kid sequel series is finally released, it will likely be on a different streaming service.

Deadline is reporting that Sony TV has shopped the already-completed third season around. That came to pass when YouTube reportedly told Sony it would air Season 3, but would not be ordering future seasons. While it's believed that all of the streaming services approached were interested, it has come down to Netflix and Hulu as potential homes for the series.

Now Playing: Cobra Kai - Talking With The Cast & Producers | SDCC 2019

This news comes as YouTube continues shying away from premium original programming. Cobra Kai remains one of only two scripted original series on the service. The other is Liza on Demand, a comedy starring YouTuber Liza Koshy.

Previously, it canceled shows like Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television, Do You Want To See A Dead Body, and Impulse. Step Up: High Water, a spin-off of the Step Up franchise of movies, was also canceled by the service in 2019. That show was recently resurrected by the Starz cable network, which ordered a new season.

As for the future of Cobra Kai, Deadline says the deal being shipped around to streamers will include exclusive streaming rights for the new season--and presumably any future seasons--and non-exclusive access to the first two seasons.

There's currently no date set for the premiere of Season 3, regardless of where it ends up. Hopefully, that is revealed soon so we can see what happened after the Season 2 cliffhanger ending.

Really enjoyed the first two seasons which was a huge surprise as I was not a karate kid fan (I saw the original and have vague memories of the 2nd).

The header "Cobra Kai Season 3 Will Not Be Stream On YouTube - Report" reads funny. Perhaps change it to "Streamed" or "Steaming?" Or keep the verb form and remove the word "Be?"

Well they said after season 2 that it wouldn't be on premium anymore anyway. So it was going to be free to view

@waltdawg443: You can do a 2 month trial right now for free. You can sign up and then literally cancel right after and still watch for 2 months. They are short seasons of like 10 episodes at about 30 minutes maybe.

@waltdawg443: You can get Cobra Kai Seasons 1+2 as a DVD Box Set, or maybe it's Blu Ray, I don't know. But it IS available in a "buy to own" form, finally. I would recommend it, the series is pretty bad ass.

this better go past season 3. This is literally the best non Anime series Ive seen in over 5 years. Hopefully going to Netflix or Hulu will mean we'll finally start getting more traditional 40-60 minute episodes too
