UK-based Codemasters has today announced that it will release no less than 17 different versions of its Club Football soccer game later this year as a result of both Celtic and Real Madrid joining the existing lineup of top European clubs. Each version of Club Football will focus on a single European soccer team, allowing players to step out onto the hallowed turf of their favorite stadium and alongside photo-realistic teammates. The 17 clubs signed by Codemasters to date are as follows:

AC Milan
Ajax
Arsenal
Aston Villa
Borussia Dortmund
Celtic
Chelsea
FC Barcelona
FC Bayern Munich
FC Internazionale
Hamburger SV
Juventus
Leeds United
Liverpool FC
Manchester United
Rangers
Real Madrid

"To have both Real Madrid and Celtic editions as part of the lineup makes the range complete," said Mike Hayes, Codemasters' group marketing director. "And the extra development time will ensure a great football gaming experience for the fans of each club."

In Club Football, players will be able to take control of other teams besides the one that their copy of the game focuses on, although only the primary team will be available for use in the game's domestic season and super league modes of play.
