Following its release on PC and console in 2020, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated will launch on mobile devices later this month.

Developer Handy Games, which is handling the mobile port, announced on Twitter that the game will launch for iOS and Android devices on January 21 for $9 USD. You can check out the announcement trailer below to see how the game looks on mobile devices; screenshots follow further down the page.

Just like the PC/console edition, the mobile port of Rehydrated lets you play as SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy as you try to save Bikini Bottom from Plankton's plot to take over the town.

The game also features content that was cut from the original game from 2003, including the epic Robo Squidward boss fight. However, it remains to be seen if the console/PC edition's multiplayer horde-style mode is featured in the mobile edition.

Handy Games stressed that Rehydrated for mobile is a premium game with no microtransactions or hidden paywalls.
